About Me

Andrei Postolache

Leadership & Executive Coach | Leadership Consultant

Hi, I'm Andrei. Nice to meet you.

I help leaders get better at the hard parts of leadership: making decisions when the answer isn't obvious, leading people through change, navigating ambiguity, developing other leaders, and getting things done without losing sight of the human side of work.

I'm a leadership and executive coach and leadership consultant with a background in technology and executive management. Before becoming an independent consultant, I spent years building and leading a 350-person business unit within a multinational company.

That experience shaped the way I work today. I know what leadership looks like from the inside: the difficult conversations, the organizational complexities, the pressure to deliver results, working with very demanding clients, the challenge of balancing short-term business demands with long-term people development, and the fact that many of the hardest decisions don't come with a clearly correct answer.

I've been the person sitting in the leadership meeting, not just the person coaching someone before it.

That journey gave me experience with strategy, organizational growth, management, hiring, developing leaders, performance, change, and the everyday realities of running a large organization.

Eventually, I decided to take everything I'd learned and focus on helping other leaders and organizations.

Since becoming an independent leadership coach and consultant, I've trained and advised hundreds of leaders and teams, working with organizations ranging from startups and growing companies to large multinational corporations employing hundreds of thousands of people.

I work with leaders and organizations in Romania and internationally, both in person and remotely.

What I help leaders with

My work focuses on the intersection of leadership, decision-making, critical thinking, and human behavior.

I work with managers, senior leaders, and executives on challenges such as:

  • becoming more effective leaders and managers;
  • developing managers and future leaders;
  • making better decisions under uncertainty;
  • navigating ambiguity and organizational complexity;
  • leading difficult conversations;
  • influencing without relying on authority;
  • building stronger teams and healthier management systems;
  • improving prioritization, communication, and executive effectiveness;
  • understanding how AI is changing leadership, management, and the way organizations work.

I'm particularly interested in the problems that become harder as people become more senior. Technical problems often have technical solutions. Leadership problems rarely do. They usually involve incomplete information, competing priorities, incentives, personalities, and consequences that aren't obvious until much later.

That's where I believe good leadership matters most.

How I work

I'm not particularly interested in giving leaders a bag of management tricks.

There are plenty of books and frameworks for that.

My approach is to first understand the situation: the people involved, the incentives, the constraints, and the assumptions everyone is making. From there, I challenge thinking, ask uncomfortable questions when necessary, and help leaders arrive at an approach that actually fits their context.

My style is practical, analytical, and direct - but never at the expense of the human side of leadership.

I believe good coaching shouldn't make people dependent on their coach. It should help them become better thinkers and better decision-makers themselves.

I also don't believe leadership is just about charisma or personality. It's a craft that combines judgment, communication, self-awareness, critical thinking, and practice.

Author & speaker

I'm the author of two books on leadership:

  • Fun & Fearless Leadership
  • New Leaders: What Do You Need to Know?

I regularly speak at conferences and community events about leadership, management, decision-making, critical thinking, organizational effectiveness, and the changing role of leaders in a world increasingly shaped by AI.

I'm also a founder of several professional communities, including Cut The Knot, because I enjoy creating spaces where people can exchange ideas, challenge assumptions, and learn from one another.

Let's talk

If you're a manager or executive trying to become more effective, or if your organization is looking to develop stronger leaders and better management practices, I'd be happy to have a conversation.

Sometimes the most useful place to start isn't with a framework or a workshop.

It's simply with a good question.
