Hi there

I'm Andrei, nice to meet you!

Andrei Hi photo

My first job was a software developer then tech lead. After that, I got into management, first project manager, then business unit manager. I was the first employee of and led a delivery center of 300 people. Most of my work has been here, in Romania, but I've also worked for 18 months in India and I've travelled to many countries for clients and colleagues.

In the 13th year of my career, I left my job and went on my own, and for the past 10 years I've been a leadership consultant, trainer and coach.

I wrote two books, Fun & Fearless Leadership and New Leaders: What do you need to know? I'm a frequent speaker at conferences and community events.

I've trained and consulted hundreds of teams and leaders, in companies ranging from startups to multinationals with hundreds of thousands of employees. This is what I do. This is my work, my job, my business.

Alongside my profession, I'm an explorer of many passions. I flew an ultralight for a couple of years. I like trail running and wild camping. I even had a time in politics, as one of the founders of a local movement, and I was into that for a few years. My latest passion is movie making, and I pursue this also as a way to market and deliver my services, but I'm also working on my first short film at the moment. I'm also almost done writing my first novel. I like history, literature, art and movies. I've been 4 times in my life to the Uffizi and sat for hours looking at La Primavera. I know of nothing more beautiful than that.

Sometimes I feel like I'm wasting my time chasing so many things. Some other times, I'm very happy that I do.

I've been obsessively focused on one thing and one thing only, like when I was a developer, or a manager, and I've tried diversity too. There's virtue in both and there's wisdom I think in balancing the depth and the breadth of one's profession, and one's life. When to dig deep, and when to wander.

My work, my techniques, my style, my philosophy is, inevitably and naturally, a reflection of my life experiences. A mix of everything. There's obsession, there's the disciplined repetition of simple habits which make a big difference, but there's also exploration, open questions, foundational dilemmas.

A good leader is able to hold paradoxes in their head. Soft and hard. Decisive and understanding. Determined and flexible. It's not one or the others, it's both.
